Your Ruling Planet Mars enters the zodiac sign of Capricorn on March 17.  Capricorn is ruled by Saturn which means that this is a time when you will be coming into your own.  You will also find that “coming into your own” is a taller order than you initially thought.  As a Child of Mars, you are used to striving rather than arriving.  You identify with struggle and fighting the good fight.  Named after the Roman god of war, Mars is the planet of soldiers, troupers, and rescuers.  You’re the person that people turn to when they need a helping hand.  It’s one thing to play the hero, quite another to play the king. Children of Mars don’t do so well in positions of leadership and authority.

This is something you’ll discover for yourself on March 24 when you’re asked to take over from someone who was point man on a project or endeavor. You may have been this person’s loudest critic or most relentless rival. In any case you’re in charge and it could be both a humbling and revealing moment. Humbling because you really had no idea of the kind of pressure this person was under and revealing in that you’ll suddenly see how politics really does play into the decisions any leader must make. It’s a sobering realization that will be brought home by the Mars/Saturn conjunction on April 2. It wouldn’t be surprising if you suddenly lose your nerve.

Thankfully the Mercury/Mars square on April will stir you to action. This could materialize as an unruly co-worker threatening to break ranks or a client delivering a withering criticism. Whatever the scenario it will wake you from your frozen deer-in-the-headlights stance and force you to exercise control. Chances are you’ll be pretty heavy-handed in your delivery but it’s to be expected when you’re trying to prove yourself in a new position.

Lovely trines and sextiles from April 10 to 23 will get you to lighten up on yourself – and others. This is when you’ll be receiving some valuable advice and wise counsel from people who – even if they haven’t been in your shoes exactly – have traveled down a similar path. What’s nice about this planetary energy is that you’ll be receptive to what they have to say. Leadership isn’t so much about telling people what to do as much as it is surrounding yourself with people who are smarter than you are and then benefitting from their expertise. This is something that will resonate with you quite deeply on April 26 when Mars falls under the rays of Pluto. It’s a heady feeling when you see how much people put their trust and faith in you.

On May 12 Mercury will square Mars again. This is a challenging planetary aspect. It will beg the question: have you learned from the past 8 weeks or did you pretend to listen while continuing to do the same old thing? If you’ve learned on the job (so to speak) then you will see your efforts rewarded. If you haven’t, then you will see the wheels fall off the clown car. And yes, Mars in Capricorn can be that stark and revealing.

That said Ruling Planet Mars enters the zodiac sign of Aquarius on May 13. Be sure to check back here then to see what that means for you.
