As usual, Libra, your attention this year, or at least for the first half of it, is devoted not to developing yourself, but on trying to change someone else. While you’re busily distracted chasing something you can’t have, you’re too occupied to observe how good you really have it.

It’s “relationships uber alle” in 2017. You’re in hot pursuit of a tempting treat as the year opens, perhaps someone you see at work or the gym. The dynamic may or may not be romantic. Maybe you’re a healer or other practitioner and good at recognizing potential clients. Whatever your gifts, you’ve identified someone who you think needs your help or love or advice, something that only you can give. Your intentions are well meaning but misplaced.

Things really heat up in February, to the point this relationship is all you think about. Or, someone from your past resurfaces. You’re swept away. You’re in over your head and too willing to do what it takes to get, keep or affect this person. The object of your desire leads you on until March 4, not unlike the proverbial carrot and the donkey. Suddenly, you stop in your tracks. With a head slap, you look back over your recent history with horror. The things you’ve engineered to get this person rub directly against your grain. What have you done? How have you compromised yourself? Is this what you really want?

You change your mind. Stay or leave? You dither and go back and forth. Leave or stay? You drive the people around you crazy with your indecision and reversals. You promise one thing to one person and something totally different to another. Without realizing it, you’re driving them away. It won’t be until October that you get some resolution on the issue, and even then, it might not be very satisfying.

April could be a discouraging or even depressing month. It’s difficult to put one foot in front of the other, but you have little choice. Your job is not going to do itself. You miss your friends and you feel lonely, detached or simply far away from them and the ones you love. The realization that perhaps you’re implicated in your own sorrow and loneliness is not lost on you, either.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, you’re enjoying the kind of good juju that only rolls around once every twelve years. Jupiter, Planet of Expansion and Good Fortune, is in your sign and Solar First House of Self until October 10. If you’re smart, you’ll invite him in and honor him. His best but least-appreciated gift is that of protection, providing a bumper against illness and injury. As a general rule, Libra will enjoy good health and vitality this year thanks to Jupiter. One does have to guard against an expanded waistline, however, and a feeling of invincibility. Don’t over-do. Jupiter will bring good things big and small to you, but you have to be all in the game. No small minds allowed. The more you recognize and acknowledge your blessings, the better they’ll seem. Gratitude is the key to making the most of this rare year.

You feel pulled in all directions the last two weeks of August. You’d dearly love to just show up for work and go home, leaving the cares of the day behind you. But right now, different departments of life are bleeding one into the other. You’re dealing with issues at home that no one else even knows about. Very old stuff and things you’d prefer to keep private. Fine. You can deal with that next year, but in the meantime, you wonder if it’s selfish to sooth the savage beast by picking up a little something for yourself. A quite nice little something, naturally. You’ve got standards. The cost will muck up the savings plan, and your accountant will glare at you, but surely you deserve it? While you’re struggling with this, a huge eclipse affects your Sector of Friends. Some of yours may exit now, or within several months in either direction. This clears the space for some new, updated associations.

Your life feels invaded in October and November, perhaps in more than one way. It’s a significant period of time for Libra. There could be a person, likely male, in your immediate environment who is rubbing you wrong. Not intentionally, perhaps, but still. You are ready to take on a fight, but not on your own behalf. There’s the rub: your own efforts don’t bring benefit to you this month.

Jupiter moves into your Money Sector , also in October. If Jupiter brings ease and abundance, this is a good thing for your bank account, right? Well, yes – with a caveat. Easy come, easy go is the old saying, and it’s true here. Stick to your savings plan and avoid retail therapy for the next year or so.

December may not be an easy month. A difficult circumstance develops, or an event occurs near the holidays. You’re called home, wherever that is, to fulfill an obligation. Old issues come back to roost. The year therefore ends on a sober note for you, who must yet again place others before self. No sign does this more gracefully than Libra.
